Cosmetic Enhancement
CHEMICAL PEELS The chemical peel is one of the oldest cosmetic procedures in the world, and was performed in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome to help people achieve smoother, more beautiful skin. Today, chemical facial peels are popular because they offer nearly immediate results and can be performed as a simple clinic based procedure. If you want to reduce or eliminate the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and uneven pigmentation, or if you simply want to rejuvenate your skin, Oak Tree surgery can help you. Patients who have never heard of this treatment before will want to know, what are chemical peels? A chemical peel is a treatment in which an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. Typically administered as a facial peel, a chemical peel enhances and smoothes the texture of the skin. It is an effective treatment for facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation.
FINE LINE AND WRINKLE SOFTENING USING BOTULINUM TOXIN (BOTOX®)
Azzalure is made of botulinum toxin also known as BOTOX ® and is used to minimise the appearance of worry lines, crows’ feet, laughter lines and other so called dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles occur when the small muscles in the face contract repeatedly under ageing skin. Botulinum toxin is injected into these muscles and works by relaxing the small facial muscles temporarily. Following treatment, because the muscles are relaxed, the overlying skin smoothes out. Untreated muscles work normally, allowing facial expression to remain unaffected.

Muscle relaxing treatment using Botulinum Toxin ( Botox ®)
What will happen at the initial consultation? During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to talk to the doctor about the changes that you would like to make to your appearance. He will explain the different options available to you, the procedure itself and the risks and limitations of treatment.
How are the injections performed? A very small amount of botulinum toxin is injected with a very fine needle into several locations in the face. Because the needle is so fine and only a tiny amount of liquid is used, there is minimal pain associated with the injections and no local anaesthetic is generally required.
How long do the treatments take? Depending on the number of injections needed, the treatment may take 10 to 20 minutes.
Are there any side effects? Mild bruising or swelling may occur at the site of the injection. In rare cases, the injection may cause the eyebrow or upper eyelid to droop but this condition is temporary and corrects itself without treatment usually within 2 to 3 weeks. We would want to know if this happened so that subsequent doses could be adjusted.
What areas are treated? The three areas are horizontal forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet wrinkles.
What can I expect afterwards? The results of the procedure are generally visible within 4 to 14 days. Although results vary, the results of an individual treatment last for about 3 – 4 months. The procedure may be repeated and with each successive treatment, the results tend to last longer.
Dermal Fillers Juveéderm and Restylane are injectable fillers which are used to safely and effectively soften facial lines and wrinkles, for lip augmentation, correct scars and for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. They can be effectively used in combination with Botulinum Toxin to achieve the optimum facial rejuvenation.
How do fillers work? Filler is injected just beneath the skin's surface temporarily adding volume to the layers of the skin that have deteriorated due to age and other factors. Filler, when injected, is used to raise depressions in the skin, providing temporary correction of wrinkles and folds.
Juvéderm ULTRA ® is a range of smooth consistency gels which are injected to restore volume, fill in fine lines and wrinkles and folds and redefine lips. Unlike other filers Juvéderm ULTRA ® is not granular which means thtait is able to flow easily into the skin. This results in a smooth and natural appearance.
Restylane dermal fillers are crystal-clear gels produced biotechnologically using stabilized, nonanimal hyaluronic acid and water. The hyaluronic acid is a tissue-friendly substance closely resembling the hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in the body. By replenishing nature’s supply of hyaluronic acid, Restylane revitalizes and plumps up the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and giving a softer look. Various formulations are produced for different indications.
Is a pre-treatment skin test required? No. You can receive Juvéderm or Restylane the same day as your initial consultation.
Do the injections hurt? In general, injections may cause some discomfort. Fillers are injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. The doctor may choose to anaesthetise or numb the treatment area to further minimise discomfort.
Can anyone be treated with Juvéderm or Restylane? Your doctor will ask about your medical history, including allergies, to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment.
What areas can be treated with Juvéderm or Restylane? The most common areas treated are the lips, smile lines around your nose and mouth, marionette lines at the corners of your mouth, frown lines between the eyes and fine lines above the mouth. We can also treat tear troughs.
How often will I require treatment? To maintain optimal correction, touch-up injections with Restylane are usually needed about twice a year. . Everyone's skin is different, that is why the timing of any additional treatment varies from person to person. Over time, Juvéderm and Restylane will be absorbed by your body, which is why you may want ongoing treatments. If you choose not to continue with your treatment, any remaining filler is simply absorbed by your body over time and your skin gradually returns to its natural shape. Your Doctor can work with you to develop a treatment plan that is right for you.
Do I need time off work to recuperate? Injections of Filler are a simple clinical procedure. Most patients feel comfortable resuming their normal activities immediately following treatment. Temporary puffiness of the treated areas, however, should be expected. As with any injection, you may also notice temporary redness, slight bruising and tenderness around the treatment sites. You are free to eat, drink, or wear makeup or sun block shortly after treatment.
How much do the treatments cost? Pricing varies depending on the number and types of areas being treated and the amount and type of filler material required to achieve the desired results.
